Where's Daddy's phone??

Let me say that I love my daughter dearly. She makes me smile 95% of the time and is a blessing to have in our home.

She has created one of those moments that makes me a little nutsy. She kept grabbing my cell phone and saying hello! hello! Yeah I know..it's cute. But when she starts pushing buttons I get concerned that she'll be calling Guatemala. So I take the phone and turn it off and give it back to her to play. I turned my head for a second and now the turned off phone, which I can't call to locate, is somewhere in the recesses of our apartment. I have already checked the toilet to make sure she didn't shove it down there. Ask her? yeah...she has told me the following, "mommy has phone", "phone in Maddie's room", "phone in Mommy and Daddy's room."

For now I will keep looking but I am not too hopeful that it will be found. Thanks Madeline.

Good Bye Grandpa

"What do I want to say not to lie?" We got the call this morning that Grand Pa passed away.
We're sad you're not with us here on Earth but we'll be celebrating the good times we've shared with you. Maddie is very very happy that she got to meet and spend some time with her great-grandpa.

The good and not so good

Ok...the good is Maddie keeps doing well. She is getting bigger and starting to have those moments we've heard about when a kid hits two. Overall we can't complain because she is such a good kid. Although today we had our doubts. Sheira took a nap and assumed Maddie would sleep the same time. When Sheira got up to check on the little one in the crib she found the diaper off with quite a bit of poop being used as crayons on the bedsheet. Lovely, huh?

On the not-so-good front my grandfather's health has taken a turn for the bad. In the past couple days he went from decent to multiple things going wrong (shaky blood pressure, failing kidneys, low blood count, and a few other things). The doctors are not too optimistic but we are doing the best we can. Josh came in for the weekend to help out. As of tonight we're not sure how long he'll be in town. It all depends on the news we get in the morning. In the nicest way I can say this, I hope that he can go home and not have to return for quite a while.

Until the next post, keep him in your thoughts and prayers and we'll post more when we can.
