Maddie's World

For the sake of trying it, we decided to see how Maddie would do with pee-peeing in her training potty. Off came the diaper and we gave her a couple cups of juice. Not that we forced it on her. She can be a pretty thirsty kid sometimes. We spent a good amount of time talking about peeing, reading books about peeing, running the faucet, and anything else we could think about having to do with peeing. After nearly 30 minutes of our efforts we heard a little tinkle in the plastic potty.

If you had told me a couple years ago that I would be dancing and singing potty songs in the middle of our apartment after a little pee-pee I might have laughed in your face. I think Maddie was more amused at our reaction to the whole thing. She did manage a couple more tinkles before going to bed. For her efforts she earned a sticker and a new Elmo limbo toy.

Did we take pictures? Well...If I didn't forget my camera in East Brunswick I am sure we would have had quite a few. We'll have to wait until next attempt. Goooooooo Pee Pee!!!!!

As Sheira and Maddie are spending the night by Grandma Marlene I don't have much to do except watch a movie or two that I haven't been able to watch lately and then watch the lengthy Academy Awards show. I haven't seen any of the movies being nominated but have heard much of the hype surrounding Brokeback Mountain. I can't say that I've had this great need to see it or buy into the hype for that matter. I did manage to find some humor in the whole thing so I thought I would share it with you and hope you enjoy it.

We're happy to be home. California was fun. We're EXHAUSTED and glad to be back into our usual routines. And - Minnie and Maddie are best friends forever.
