Still hauling on Father's Day

Sheira and Maddie are up at camp while I make my weekend journeys up to camp until I go up there for good on June 30th. I love seeing the two of them after being a week away but there is something special when Maddie sees me, drops what she's doing, and sprints over yelling, "daddy! daddy! daddy!" and then pours herself into my arms, neck, and chest. She then proceeds to babble about what she's been up to that week. Somewhere in there is usually a "I bonked" or "I went boom and got a boo boo." She is definitely getting more personality almost weekly. Have I mentioned how lucky I am to be blessed with such a wonderful daugher?

I am very used to having Father's Day be anything but traditional. I married a camp person and I know full well that this will be the way it is. I hope Sheira knows that as long as I get to spend time with her and Maddie it's always going to be a great day. I don't need all the pomp and circumstance that can go with it - just my two special ladies.

Until the next post - we love you all and look forward to hearing from you during our Summer days.
